Grading and dirt work that drains right and builds solid

Shape the ground for building, drainage, and access.

Good dirt work is what everything else sits on, and water is what ruins it. We shape building pads, regrade yards and pastures, dig and shape ditches and swales, install culverts, backfill, and spread fill or topsoil, always with water flow in mind.

We work with a Kubota KX080-5 excavator and an SVL75-3 track loader, so we can dig, haul, spread, and finish grade on the same job.

Good for

  • Building, shop, and barn pads
  • Drainage correction: swales, ditches, and culverts
  • Yard and pasture regrading
  • Driveway and road subgrade prep
  • Backfilling and fill spreading
  • Trenching and excavation
  • Topsoil spreading and seedbed prep

How it goes

  1. Step 1: Walk the site

We talk through the goal, look at the ground and drainage, and decide what has to move.

  2. Step 2: Mark the grades

Drainage paths and finished heights are marked or staked before we start.

  3. Step 3: Cut, fill, and shape

Dirt moved where it needs to go, placed and compacted in a sensible order.

  4. Step 4: Finish and watch the water

Finish grading, then we check how water leaves the site.

What affects the price

We do not publish flat prices for land work, because no two properties are alike. These are the things that move your bid.

  • Volume of dirt moved, in cubic yards
  • Hauling distance for imported or exported fill
  • Soil type and moisture
  • Compaction requirements
  • Access and staging room

Questions

Can you build a pad to engineering specs?

We build to the plans or specs you provide, but we do not do engineering or soil testing. If your project requires certified compaction or engineered fill, bring those requirements to the bid and we will tell you honestly whether it is a fit.

What about underground utilities?

Underground utilities must be located before any excavation. Locates are requested through 811 before ground is broken, and we walk the marked lines with you.

Do you bring in fill dirt or topsoil?

We can source and spread it. Tell us how much you need and we will include it in the bid, with the quantity and the hauling spelled out.
